Garlic Shop is a marketplace for people who take garlic seriously — growers, producers, foodies, health-conscious cooks, and the quietly passionate. A global home, not a transactional shop.

Day one began with three things we could do properly: our own curated range, a growing library of recipes from around the world, and longform articles that go deep on varieties, provenance, health, history, and cooking.

Garlic Shop is also a live experiment in what AI can actually do inside a real retail business. Not a pilot. Not a sandbox. A proper trading business — with customers, suppliers, logistics, and all the messiness that comes with it.

We want to understand, firsthand, where AI genuinely helps — product discovery, customer service, content, market intelligence — and where it falls short or needs a human in the loop. We're not chasing automation for its own sake. We're chasing understanding, and we share what we learn.

The research behind Garlic Shop's content — the blog posts, the deep dives — eventually surfaced a bigger opportunity. That became allium., the science-led supplement brand built on aged black garlic. Garlic Shop is still running, still teaching us things.
